Communication Studies, Interdisciplinarity Debates, and the Quest for Knowledge

This article focuses on interdisciplinarity as a “future field” and what it means for the communication discipline. It argues that, whereas has potential to produce “high-risk, high-reward” research outcomes, studies more gain refining vast body of knowledge that shaped its conceptual institutional particularities across time space. Whereas this argument is not anything new, I contribute these debates by emphasizing anthropological questioning, epistemological formulations, ethical reasoning, quest meaning modalities consolidating epistemic political views have guided intellectual impetus studies.
